Our mission

To mobilize survivors of war and natural disasters in the North, East and South of Sri Lanka with special emphasis on marginalized groups including IDPs and torture victims to deal with their psychosocial and physical distress through community based holistic care, rehabilitation, education, economic empowerment and peace building

WELCOME TO SURVIVORS ASSOCIATED

Survivors Associated (SA) was established in 1996 to conduct psychosocial development activities at grass roots level in conflict areas. It is now active in the districts of Mannar, Vavuniya, Batticaloa Ampara,Tangalle,and the Vanni. SA works through secondary school educated young people from the areas, who are trained to work within their communities as psychosocial caregivers as business counsellors and in peace building.

Survivors associated programmes include training, services and awareness building on Psychosocial and Disability Rehabilitation, Economic development and conflict resolution modules

 
Psychosocial

The trauma and stress experienced by the target groups need to be addressed through Individual and group therapy programmes.

In the process of implementing its programmes SA has identified several economic factors that contribute to the trauma of its target groups, particularly widows and the handicapped.
